This entrance discourages starlings, while adding length to the gourd for birds to create a deeper nesting cavity. A plastic porch can be attached below the entry for convenient avian landing spots, and ridges on it offer a secure grip. Create a cleaning and viewing access port on the other side of your gourd using the threaded, 4.625" diameter expander ring, and keep it closed with the threaded plastic cover while birds are nesting.
